Nikon 24mm PC/E vs 24mm f1.4 - photo results
At any wider aperture the 24mm f1.4 is superior (edges) as the field curvature on the PC/E becomes more obvious.
So f11 is probably as good as it gets with the 24mm PC/E, if you are after max depth of field.
The trees in the far distance (centre) are sharp in both images.
The obvious conclusion is that if shifts and tilts are not essential then the 24mm f1.4 is the best all rounder by far but if shifts and tilts are necessary then the 24mm PC/E is the way to go but great care must be taken in focusing. I've tried the Schneider wide angle pc tilt shift lens and its a little better optically but not perfect. Also its a lot more money, weighs too much and is super slow to use.
